Collaborative Fire Investigation Team
The Fire Investigation Team is a joint effort between the Portage Fire Department and Police Department, consisting of 9 Fire Department members and 2 Police Officers. Together, they work to determine the origin and cause of every fire within the city. Three Fire Investigators are assigned to each 24-hour shift, ensuring round-the-clock coverage. Each investigator is equipped with a digital pager and is called upon for assistance when multiple investigators are needed on scene.
