MSA Support and Maintenance Team

Our MSA Team is comprised of six highly trained department members, each certified by MSA as CARE Technicians. These specialists are responsible for the inspection, maintenance, testing, and repair of all self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) used by the department—ensuring every unit is safe, fully operational, and ready for use in critical situations.

Advanced Equipment and Safety Compliance

The Portage Fire Department utilizes state-of-the-art MSA SCBA units featuring Bluetooth integration with portable radios, as well as built-in fireground accountability and emergency notification systems. In addition to equipment maintenance, our MSA Team also conducts annual OSHA-required fit testing for all personnel, reinforcing our commitment to both firefighter safety and regulatory compliance.
